Guidelines to start a PHPFox Social Network 1
PHPFox Installation:
Plan what are going to do?
* many people are coming with an idea to compete or even to defeat facebook, twitter or gplus
iam initially saying that you cant do that using a nulled script, nulled modules and themes also with cheap hosting! dont try for compete with those well established sites, you cant do it, because they are wealthy, spending millions and billions of dollars everyday.
but you can build your own social network with what you have, you can even earn if you have well planned site.
try to be different in theme, mods, services from other social networks, have a unique site, dont copy or clone fb, gplus, even you wont use your site for the same facility of fb or gplus.
initially dont spend on ads, your neighbours, friends, and relatives must be your first members, then slowly extend your circle to world.
also you must be a developer or you must have developer to look after your site.
Hosting Selection:
* are you beginner? or wanna test the phpfox script? then just use free hosting, its enough.
* wanna build a small community, then you may opt for a paid host
* wanna build a medium community, you must have atleast vps class host, for large communities surely you must have dedicated servers
* always choose a hosting package with unlimited space and bandwidth, also choose the hosting location near to your majority members, so that your site's speed may increase
* always run a test live before switching to live.
PHPFox Upgrade:
* always backup your existing site database and files before upgrading to new version
* never upgrade live sites for beta and rc releases. use only stable release in live sites
* never upgrade your sites directly, have a development site with all the features of your live site, upgrade the live site, check whether all your modules, themes, functions are working well, if you satisfied then upgrade your live site
* if you need a particular module in your site means, then choose your phpfox version accordingly, (new phpfox versions do not support old modules or theme)
* if you customized your site ,means, have a list of change log and modified codes, after upgrade you might be needed.
